Resin Ring Bling and other video tidbits

I was at a Colorado Metalsmithing Association conference last summer with a dinner reservation for six (even though there were only three of us in our party) so I invited Helen Driggs and Marilynn Nicholson to join us.  Helen Driggs is the senior editor of Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist Magazine and Marilynn Nicholson is the founder of Taos School of Metalsmithing and Lapidary Design.  Both are the nicest people you could ever have the pleasure of sharing a meal with.

After a good deal of coaxing, we made a plan for me to take the leap into video tutorials.  The first video would be filmed two weeks later!  No time to change my mind. Those of you who follow me on facebook have seen some of my shaky, poorly lit, awkwardly angled iphone videos and might agree that I should consider sticking to my jewelry making!  However, the promise of a make-up artist airbrushing my face, a film crew, and video editors was irresistible.  I love to share what I do and even though my nerves show in the first few videos, the crew made me look kind of amazing!

So, while I don't generally jump on every opportunity, I sure did jump into this one and I'm glad I did.  You can find six of my tutorials here:  Interweave Store and Craftdaily.com
(both sites also offer monthly subscription services so you can watch videos on ANY subject from beading to weaving.  There are also trailers to get an idea if the project is right for you... in one of the trailers I say the word "basic" about 15 times which is basically the basics of the most basic of the basics, basically)!
